"I think of it this way: we go to trade shows to meet the press, partners and customers, you deliver one third of a trade show benefit with none of its hassles and less than tenth of the cost." -Youssri Helmy, CEO - NetCelera

"8-Minute PR is a great addition to our media training roster. It helps company spokespeople to more effectively crystallize and prioritize their key messages as well as tell a more compelling, streamlined story to the media. It also helps them jettison the dreaded 'PowerPoint fatigue' of relying on laborious, long-winded 50-page presentations to tell their story," said
Gail Scibelli, vice president, Brand Unit PR, Computer Associates.

"This was a great event for me because so much of my job involves assigning stories to reporters with very specific beats. I've uncovered a bunch of potential stories which I'll forward along to my reporters." -
IDG News Service

"Well, 8-Minute PR was certainly unlike any event I've attended! I'm definitely interested in hearing about the next event and, if it's appropriately themed for me, I'll consider attending. My initial feedback is that it's more appropriate for editors looking to meet with many different vendors, than it is for reporters with specific beats." -Network World

"I liked the event a lot, it was a really great fit for my publication. I also think it's a great concept! I think there is room for a few potential improvements such as; bump up the time of each 'date' from 8 minutes to 10-12 minutes, brief the company representatives beforehand on the focus of each magazine so they can give a more tailored view of their company and its relevance to the readers of a given publication. Related to that point, it would be great to avoid sales guys in favor of other execs who can position the company more strategically and speak about broad market issues. I would also suggest holding it in a slightly bigger space with a little more distance between tables, perhaps use tables that seat four, for some extra space, as neighboring conversations were a little loud. Lastly, encourage people to stick around afterward." -CFO

"It's a great format. The 8-minute time limit focuses the conversation and makes the vendors get right to the point. And no Powerpoints!"
-Scot Petersen, eWeek

"Thanks for your invite. A novel idea!"
-Associated Press

"It sounds interesting and I would definitely attend if all of the companies were relevant to my beat. If I didn't have plans for tonight, I would come anyway, just to see how it works. Let me know about the next one." -eWeek

"Get back to me when you have one of these in San Francisco." -freelancer

"The 8-minute PR idea is great. I wish I could attend! Unfortunately I'm based in San Francisco, not the main Technology Review office in Cambridge. I'm going to forward your note to my colleagues there instead. But it's still unfortunate, because I'm the main coordinator of infotech coverage and I would have loved to talk with some of these folks. Perhaps you can keep me clued in anyway, with agenda & speaker lists & any collateral that comes out of the events. Or maybe you can organize one in San Francisco..." -Technology Review Magazine

"This is a great idea; I would have loved to attend but my schedule conflicts. Please keep me in mind next time around." -Technology Review Magazine

I can't make it tonight, last minute scheduling conflict. But it's a great idea and I'd love to be there the next time around. -Internet.com
